My latest My Magazine Sharing Mission was for Kroger’s Private Selections infused sauces. I was pretty excited because we love BBQ sauce in my house.
Here are the available flavors:
Barrel Aged Kentucky Bourbon Craft BBQ Sauce: Sweet and tangy with oaky bourbon notes from real, barrel-aged bourbon
Dark Ale & Chipotle Pepper Craft BBQ Sauce: A bold, rich sauce with the deep malt character of dark ale and smoky chipotle pepper
Pale Ale & Mustard Craft BBQ Sauce: Pale ale combines with mustard and blackstrap molasses for a bright, tangy sauce
Hot Huli Huli & Rum Craft BBQ Sauce: A harmonious, Hawaiian-style sauce made with real rum, pineapple and hot peppers.

The flavor I received was Kentucky Bourbon. First let’s talk about the bottle. I love that it’s shape eludes to the fact that it’s bourbon infused. (My bottle did have a small leak in it when I received it. I assume it was the extreme weather heat at the time.)
I love the smell of bourbon, but I have to admit, I’m not a big fan of the taste. I’ve had it mixed in with sauces and even caramel and really liked the way it elevated the flavor. The Private Selections didn’t disappoint. Right out of the bottle, the bourbon smell and taste was fairly strong. I couldn’t use it as a dipping sauce. It was fantastic on the pork roast my husband smoked and the bacon wrapped chicken breasts that he grilled.
